A notice has been served to the organiser of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's rally in Faizabad over violation of the model code of conduct, Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi said Tuesday.
"A notice has been served to the organiser. They have requested 24 hours to reply. We will see their reply and then decide on our course of action," Zutshi told media persons.
There were allegations of violation of the poll code after a huge potrait of Lord Rama was seen in the backdrop of the stage at Modi's Faizabad rally May 5.
The Congress had moved the poll panel, saying Modi was using religion to seek votes and had demanded that an FIR be lodged against him.
