Defending Spanish Primera Liga champions Atletico Madrid struggled to a narrow 2-1 win at home against newly-promoted Eibar.
Atletico had looked to be on their way to a comfortable win after Joao Mirando and Mario Mandzukic put them 2-0 ahead after just 25 minutes Saturday night, reports Xinhua.
Eibar have the lowest budget in Spain, but fought back with Abraham scoring a spectacular goal shortly afterwards.
Despite displaying some of their new signings, such as 30-million euro forward Antoine Griezmann, Atletico spent much of the second half barely holding on to their lead.
Atletico defender Diego Godin gifted Eibar a chance to equalise in the last minute but luckily for the Uruguayan, they did not take advantage, and the hosts escaped with a 2-1 win.
