San Salvador, March 31 (IANS/EFE) At least eight people were killed and 32 injured when the truck in which they were riding, overturned near a town in central El Salvador, an official said Sunday.
The truck was being driven by a minor.
The accident occurred Saturday evening at Kilometer 123 of the Longitudinal del Norte highway near the town of Sensuntepeque in central Cabañas province, the head of communications for the mayor's office of the town, Juner Guzman, said.
Four people died at the scene and the others passed away at the hospitals, he added.
At least 17 of the 32 people who were hurt, Guzman said, are still hospitalised and six of them are in "serious" condition in the state-run hospital in San Salvador.
