The Election Commission of India is likely to announce the poll dates for the coming Lok Sabha polls on Sunday as it has called for a press conference later in the day.

According to the Commission, the conference will take place at the Vigyan Bhavan's plenary hall at 5 p.m.

The Commission on Saturday conducted a review meeting as part of its preparations for the multi-phased elections.

The schedule for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was announced that year on March 5.

The model code of conduct will come into effect from the date of declaration of the polls.
