Ethanol mix with petrol will benefit Haryana: Pradhan

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Monday that the government has prepared a scheme for mixing five percent ethanol in petrol which would benefit Haryana in a big way.

Addressing top businessmen and industrialists in the two-day 'Haryana Happening Global Investor Summit' here, Pradhan also said that his ministry is promoting the usage of CNG to reduce the carbon emissions.

He said that Panipat refinery would be further developed as it has significantly contributed in the development process of Haryana.

Farmers used to burn the residue of wheat and paddy which can be used for making ethanol.

He said that a scientist from Rohtak has submitted a project of making ethanol from rotten potatoes and the government would assist all such projects related to the interest of the farmers.

Earlier, Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Capt. Abhimanyu gave a detailed presentation on Haryana.
