A former Ph.D. student from Jawaharlal Nehru University was reported missing from the university campus when he went there for some work on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.
There have been reports saying that Mukul Jain, 26, was still studying at the university, an officer told IANS.
"As per the information we have received from JNU administration, he is no more enrolled there and has completed his Ph.D. from their department of Life Sciences."
"He had vacated his hostel room after completing his research and was currently staying in Ghaziabad."
The officer said Jain was dealing with some "personal issues" and there was no certainty about what could have gone wrong. "There is no suspect in this case," he said.
