The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET 2015) examination, due to be taken by nearly 4.5 lakh candidates, will be held in October, an education official said on Saturday.
The exams for the recruitment in government-runs schools were earlier scheduled to be held by the Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) on August 30 and 31.
The change in the schedule of HTET exams was taken on Saturday at a meeting of education department officials in New Delhi, chaired by Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma.
Principal Secretary of education department T.C. Gupta was also present at the meeting.
The exams will be conducted at every district headquarters of the state. Earlier, seven districts were banned from conducting HTET exams. "Now aspirants from Jhajjar, Rohtak, Jind, Mahendergarh, Palwal, Mewat and Bhiwani will be able to appear at their home districts," R.S. Sangwan, deputy director (National Capital Region), public relations, told IANS.
The HTET exam is the qualifying examination for recruitment of teachers in Haryana government-run schools.
Candidates appearing for HTET 2015 can download admit cards by logging on to the following websites: www.htet.nic.in, hbse.ac.in and bseh.org.in.
The HTET exam is subdivided into three categories including Primary Teacher, TGT - Trained Graduate Teacher and PGT- Post Graduate Teacher. "To decide the new examination dates in October, a high-level meeting will be held next week in Bhiwani," the officer added.
