Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani, in a letter Friday to party president Rajnath Singh, expressed disappointment over his style of functioning.

In the letter, Advani also mentioned the meeting of parliamentary board that took a decision to name Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections.

Excerpts of Advani's letter to Rajnath Singh.

"When you came today afternoon to inform me about the parliamentary board meeting, I had told you something about anguish in my heart and my disappointment about your way of working."

"I had told you then that I will consider whether to come to the parliamentary board and convey my feelings to the members or not. I have now decided that not coming to the meeting will be appropriate."

Advani began the letter as "Dear Shri Rajnath Singh". He wrote "yours" before putting his signatures at the end.
