Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Thursday said that a report on a farmer's suicide at an AAP rally here on Wednesday has been submitted to the home ministry.
He added that Delhi Police had urged the organisers to shift the venue of the rally.
"We have submitted a report on the incident to the home ministry," Bassi told the media.
He added that a first information report (FIR) was registered on Wednesday.
"Seeing the possibility of huge crowd coming to attend the rally, we had asked the organisers to shift the venue of their protest to Ramlila Maidan," he told reporters.
When asked about keeping Gajendra's DNA or viscera safe, Bassi said: "Once we get full detail, we will share it."
"Our objective is to reach the bottom of the matter as earliest as possible. Inquiry into the case is going on," he said.
Gajendra Singh, who hailed from Dausa district in Rajasthan, hanged himself from a tree at Jantar Mantar when the Aaam Aadmi Party was holdings its farmers' rally on Wednesday.
He was rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
