National Conference (NC) President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Monday filed his nomination papers for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat of Jammu and Kashmir.
Accompanied by his son and NC Vice President Omar Abdullah, Farooq reached the office of Returning Officer Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary in Shaheedgunj area here to file his papers.
Farooq is seeking re-election from the Srinagar seat. He has the support of the Congress party that has not fielded any candidate from Srinagar against the NC President.
He is being challenged by Aga Mohsin of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Irfan Raza Ansari of the Peoples Conference (PC) and Khalid Jehangir of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
