Disc Jockey (DJ) Fila from the Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila. whose real name is Fadi Wassef Naguib, says that initially there were a lot of female DJs but then they were promoted wrongly and hence there are less women in this field.
"Honestly, in the music scene, initially there were a lot of female djs but they were promoted wrongly. It was about their bodies, looks... which is why I think the audience doesn't take female DJs seriously," Fila told IANS.
Aly and Fila are known for hosting an Internet radio show called Future Sound of Egypt with over 200 shows. The duo has also albums like "Quiet Storm" and "The Other Shore".
The duo last performed in India during Sunburn 2015 in Goa.
