A multi-sectoral delegation led by industry chamber FICCI showcased Indian innovations in the United States from Sep. 22 to 26.

"The delegation visited Silicon Valley to showcase Indian innovations to US investors, venture capitalists, angel investors and entrepreneurs and also visited companies like Intel and DLA Piper," a FICCI statement said here Saturday.

The visit was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's current visit to the US.

The objective of the visit was to interact and network with US companies and the investor fraternity to explore opportunities for collaboration and investment.

The delegation is an annual exercise by FICCI to take about 60-70 companies to the US over the next five years with the idea of establishing 20-25 tie-ups each year and achieving an overall target of 100 collaborations over the next five years, the statement said.

The delegation comprised about 60 companies from sectors as diverse as information technology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, clean energy and education.

The visit was planned in partnership with the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, TiE Silicon Valley, IC2 Institute at the University of Texas, Austin, Center for Innovation (CFI) at Arlington and Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).

Industry representatives who participated in the delegation were Saurabh Srivastava, chairman, Steria, Yogesh Andlay, co-founder, Nucleus Software and Polaris Financial Technology & board member, School of Inspired Leadership and Padmaja Ruparel, president, Indian Angel Network.
