A 28-year-old woman was on Wednesday sentenced to seven years in jail for causing the death of an Indian-origin woman in a road accident three years ago, a media report said.

The High Court in Suva sentenced Jessica Jasmine Hill to prison for causing Sereana Pratap's death in May 2013, Fiji Times reported.

Pratap, an Australian citizen, was in Fiji for domestic reasons when the vehicle she was driving was hit by the car driven by Hill.

Hill was found guilty of one count of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and one count of failure to undergo breathalyser test upon the request of a police officer.
