The members of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), who were planning to go on strike from Wednesday for hike in daily wages of the workers and technicians, have called it off post their meeting with producers on Tuesday night.

"We have called off the strike because we had a late-night meeting with the producers. Then they came to an acceptable terms and most of our demands were fullfilled," federation president Kamlesh Pandey told IANS.

"As far as the wage hike is concerned, we negotiated but we are happy with their decision. So, today all the workers and technicians will be working," he added.

Both sides held an unofficial meeting a few days back to discuss the issue, but couldn't arrive at an agreeable solution. Following this, the FWICE decided to go on strike from Wednesday.

Kamlesh Pandey says the "fresh MOU will be signed on June 20".

"Last night all our members were present for the meeting and producers, including Mukesh Bhatt, Vipul Shah, T.P. Agarwal, Sajid Nadiadwala, were also present," he told IANS.
