A massive fire broke out at a factory outlet in West Bengal's Sodepur town in North 24 Parganas district - around 17 km from Kolkata - on Monday, and five fire engines have been deployed to fight the blaze, an official said.
"The fire broke out at 12.02 p.m. and 25 engines are at the spot. It is still not clear if some workers are stuck inside as the firefighting is still in process," the official said.
He mentioned that explosive materials inside the factory outlet of chairs are making the situation challenging.
Sources suspect that some of the workers are still stuck inside.
West Bengal Fire Services Minister Sujit Bose also reached the spot to inquire about the situation.
