A fire here on Friday destroyed about a dozen tents and some weapons belonging to the security forces, a police officer said.
He said around a dozen tents pitched inside the PWD Park in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu city were destroyed in a blaze.
The fire led to some live ammunition going off which created panic in the area, he said.
A jawan was injured while trying to retrieve his service rifle from a burning tent. He has been admitted to a hospital.
The tents housed security guards of some former ministers, police and civil officers who live in the Gandhi Nagar area.
The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated, the police officer said.
