Actor Aditya Roy Kapur will be seen in an intense love story, "Fitoor", after "Aashiqui 2". And he hopes that the audience will love the character from his forthcoming film for the "intensity and all-consuming passion".
The actor, who catapulted to fame with "Aashiqui 2" in 2012 after a string of flops, drew similarities between the characters of both the films. Aditya hopes history repeats itself.
"Rahul Jaykar, my character in 'Aashiqui 2' was a talented musician battling his demons, while Noor Nizami, my character in 'Fitoor', is an artist who spends his entire life in pursuit of the love of his muse, Firdaus.
"He is a wonderfully intense, obsessive and passionate character and the process of playing him was an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. If RJ's character was loved by the youth for his selflessness in love, I believe Noor will be loved for his intensity and all-consuming passion," Aditya said in a statement.
After facing failure with films like "Action Replayy" and "London Dreams", Aditya's career took off post- "Aashiqui 2", in which he shared screen space with Shraddha Kapoor.
Katrina Kaif will be seen as his love interest in the film, which is an adaptation of Charles Dickens's novel "Great Expectations".
The team of the film has emphasised that the story takes inspiration from the novel, but presents it in a new mould. The trailers of the film also hint at Kashmir politics.
Co-produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Abhishek Kapoor, the film will hit the screens on February 12.
