Five children were killed and two injured in China's Guizhou province Friday when a small truck hit a crowd of school students, authorities said.

While ruling out possibility of intentional harm, the authorities were investigating how the truck lost control, according to a district administration in the city of Bijie, where the accident occurred, Xinhua reported.

Three children died at the site, while two died in hospital.

The accident took place after the primary school students finished class, rescuers said.
