The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) cleared a proposal to construct five flyovers to decongest the city at its board meeting on Monday, said its vice chairman Vijay Kumar Yadav.

The places where flyovers are to be constructed have been identified at Mohan Nagar, Hapur Chungi, Vasundhara Crossing, Vivekanand Nagar T point and NH-58 at Raj Nagar extension, all of which see traffic get stuck during peak hours, he told media persons after the meeting.

The board also cleared a proposal for mixed land use alongside the metro track but with certain conditions, he said, adding it considered 51 proposals of which 45 were passed and the remaining kept for the next meeting.
