At least five people were killed and 25 injured Monday when a freight lorry rammed into a passenger train in Bangladesh.
According to police, the accident took place at Dhaka's Kamalapur Railway Station's container depot, the Daily Star reported.
Two people were killed on the spot while three others died of their injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The victims were all passengers, including one woman.
As the 219-Narayangaj Local was moving to Dhaka, the lorry of NS Cargo Ltd. defied a signal and hit a compartment of the train, a transportation officer said.
"It appears that the driver of the lorry lost control and rammed the train with speed," he said.
As a result, a carriage of the train got derailed.
