The authorities are looking for five picnickers who have been missing since falling down Purwa Falls in this district of Madhya Pradesh, an official said on Thursday.
Five persons were picnicking on Wednesday at the Tamsa river bank in Samaria area when water was released from Bakia dam, Sub-Divisional Officer (revenue) Dharmendra Mishra told reporters.
The suddenly swollen stream washed the five away and threw them down the falls, he said.
They have been missing since then.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed concern and sadness over the incident and said he has told the Rewa administration to do all they can to look for the five persons.
