Five persons were fatally run over by a train and one was injured on Sunday at Sawai Madhopur railway station, over 170 km from here.

"The accident occurred when some passengers, while alighting from the Jaipur-Bayana passenger train, were hit by Garbha Superfast Express train speeding along on the parallel track on Sunday afternoon," a police official said.

"The victims were getting down on the railway tracks instead of the platform on the other side of the train," the official said.

The authorities are trying to identify the victims.
