Rome, June 23 (IANS/AKI) A five-year-old boy died from a head injury after a large stone vase fell on top of him as he played in his family's garden in Guidonia, northeast of Rome.

The boy had climbed onto a wall while his father was doing some jobs outside but lost his balance and grabbed onto the vase, which toppled onto him, Rome daily Il Messaggero reported on Thursday.

The child's parents rushed him to a hospital but he could not be saved.
