Five young men, including a student, were found dead inside a vehicle in a village in Assam's Nalbari district on Thursday, police said.
Police said a group of 24 people had gone for a picnic from Bordighala village on Wednesday morning and returned at night.
"The five youths spent the night inside the vehicle they had hired for the picnic. However, on Thursday morning, we saw all of them were unconscious," a police officer quoted locals as saying.
They were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead.
Police said that there were no visible injury marks on the bodies and believe they may have been suffocated inside the vehicle.
