Most of the flight operations and train services here were affected on Wednesday as a dense fog engulfed the national capital and reduced the visibility to about 100 metres in the morning.
"More than 60 trains reached late. And 21 trains that were supposed to leave from here also got affected," Northern Railway official Neeraj Sharma told IANS.
"The number of delays is expected to rise," he added.
The airport authorities also confirmed to IANS that many flight operations were disrupted due to low visibility in the fog.
"The fog occurred all of a sudden and visibility was as low as 100 metres. There were 14 diversions and many flights had to be delayed," an official said.
However, the visibility improved to 1,000 metres as the sun shone in the afternoon.
