It was a chilly Friday morning in the capital with accompanying dense fog delaying over 61 trains.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
The met department, however, forecast a clear day ahead.
Visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 700 metres while it was 300 metres at 5.30 a.m.
An official of the Northern Railway said that at least 61 trains were running late while 11 were rescheduled and six cancelled.
"There was a dense fog in the morning, but the day will be mainly clear," said an official of the India Meteorological Department. The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 16 degrees Celsius.
Thursday's maximum temperature went six notches below the season's average at 16 degrees Celsius while the minimum was six degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
