A football fan, 41, died of his injuries Wednesday morning after a "violent" fall in Brussels during the jubilation after a victory of the Red Devils in the 2014 World Cup, police said.
The man fell Tuesday night from a lion statue in front of the building Bourse of downtown Brussels while celebrating a victory of Belgium over Algeria in the first match in Group H of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Xinhua quoted witnesses as saying.
The Moroccan national was in a "very critical" case after he fell to the ground and bumped his shoulder and head. He was quickly hospitalised.
