Former Miss Shimla excited to play designer on TV

Shivya Pathania, who was crowned Miss Shimla in 2013, is upbeat about her debut on the small screen.

She will be seen playing an aspiring fashion designer in new TV show "Humsafars".

"I am thrilled to be part of 'Humsafars'. It's an unusual love story and I'm excited about my character Arzoo. She is a smart, sensitive and vivacious girl from Lucknow who comes to Mumbai to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer," Shivya said in a statement.

Talking further about her character, she said: "She is independent and knows that you can achieve your dreams only through hard work. The character is very real and I am sure the audience will love it."

The show also features actor Harshad Chopra as a heartless fashion mogul named Sahir.

Set against the backdrop of the glamorous but ruthless fashion world, "Humsafars" is said to be a passionate love story between Arzoo and Sahir -- two imperfect and contrasting individuals.

The show will go on air on Sony Entertainment Television Sep 22.
