Nicole Kidman's father dies after hotel fall

Nicole Kidman's father Antony Kidman has died following a fall he suffered at a hotel here, said the actress' publicist.

The "family is in shock and is grieving," Nicole's publicist and long-time friend of the Kidmans, Wendy Day, told Daily Mail Australia.

"I think that some time and privacy is needed to deal with this shock and tragedy," Day added.

An official statement regarding the well respected Sydney psychologist's death is to be made by the family, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Antony was visiting his other daughter, Antonia, and his grandchildren who live in Singapore and suffered the fall after eating breakfast.

He was a clinical psychologist at Royal North Shore Hospital and a director of health psychology at the University of Technology, Sydney.
