Kabul, April 24 (IANS/EFE) Four children from the same family died Tuesday and another child was wounded when a bomb they were playing with exploded in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, an official told EFE.
The incident occurred about 2 p.m. in the Raskai zone of Marouf district, a spokesman for the regional government, Javed Faisal, said.
"Four children from the same family died while they were playing with a bomb. One child who belongs to another family was wounded," said the official.
Faisal said that all the victims were under age 10 and he blamed the Taliban insurgency for the incident.
The Taliban often resort to using bombs to harass Afghan and international security forces.
In practice, however, many of the bomb victims are civilians.
