Four Bahrainis were awarded life sentence Thursday over the death of an Asian man in a 2012 blast attack, a media report here said.
Another Asian was killed and one injured in the series of bombing attacks, which hit the capital Manama districts of Qudaibiya and Adliya Nov 5, 2012. At that time, Manama Police District said that all the explosions were carried out through the use of crude homemade bombs, Xinhua reported.
According to Bahraini High Criminal Court, the four convicts were charged with "forming a terrorist group, attempting a premeditated murder, detonating a bomb for terrorist purposes, as well as using and possessing explosives to carry out terrorist acts."
Bahrain has been facing clashes between anti-government demonstrators and government forces since its majority Shiites staged protests against the Sunni monarchy in March 2011.
