Four soldiers were killed and two others injured after an avalanche hit their vehicle in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, an official said.
Three army trucks were hit by the avalanche near Changla Pass in Leh district on the world's third highest motorway, 17,590 feet above sea level, a police officer told IANS here.
Two soldiers were killed on the spot, while two went missing. Their bodies were later found buried in the snow.
The two injured soldiers were rescued in an army operation launched immediately after reports of the avalanche were received.
