French President François Hollande and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday for the results of the just-concluded assembly elections in five states.

The PMO on Twitter said that both the Emir of Qatar and Hollande called up Modi to convey their felicitations on the election results.

The Centre's ruling Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has come to power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, while the Congress formed the government in Punjab.
