A 44-year-old French tourist died after being gored by a bull in the Spanish town of Pedreguer.

The victim was taking part in a traditional 'running with bulls' event in the small town on the east coast of Spain on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

One of the bulls, which was running through the streets of the town, charged and gored him. The remaining events were cancelled as a mark of respect.

The tragedy took place shortly before the final running of the bulls in the famous San Fermin celebration in the town of Pamplona.
