Know why your spouse give in to temptation on Friday evenings? She is not alone.
Friday at 8 p.m. is the time when most of the women - including those on diet - struggle the most to avoid taste buds taking over the senses.
"However much pressure we put on ourselves to eat healthy during the week, good intentions often tend to fly out of the window at the weekend," US-based dietitian Helen Bond was quoted as saying.
Nearly a quarter (24 percent) of British women cited Friday at 8 p.m. the day and time they struggle the most, closely followed by Saturday (21 percent) - making weekends a difficult time to manage cravings.
If you have spent five weekdays days saving 500 calories a day but then eat an additional 2,000 calories Friday night and Saturday, you will not lose weight and it may actually contribute to weight gain, she told Daily Mail.
In order to avoid this, make a shopping list of healthy foods that you like and make weekend meals that contain lots of them.
Exercising with a friend or going to a slimming group at the weekend can help boost your resolve.
If you drink a lot of tea and coffee at work during the week, you might find that you drink less at the weekend.
