Liverpool legend and Atletico de Kolkata marquee player Luis Garcia on Wednesday said he is eagerly waiting to return and play in the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL), donning the red and white stripes for the Kolkata franchise.
Speaking to goal.com at an event here, he said: "Yes, if I can yes. I heard that they wanted me back but we don't have anything yet. I'm just waiting."
The ISL in its first edition witnessed huge footfalls. Garcia said he was impressed with the turnouts and the interest the league generated in the country.
"The first one, the opening, it was 80,000. Only because they needed to control or else the Salt Lake Stadium could receive 120,000. The attendance every week in our stadium was 30, 40, 50 (thousands) depending on the other team (they were scheduled to play with). It was very good," he said referring to the vocal fans.
