Actor Girish Kumar, who makes his Bollywood debut with "Ramaiya Vastavaiya", felt awkward when he saw the audience whistling for him at a theatre here.
"It feels weird that people are whistling for you. I'm happy that the audience is liking my work. I feel quite different, it doesn't seem like I am seeing myself on the screen, but some other actor. It feels like an out-of-body experience," the 23-year-old said here Friday at a theatre.
"Ramaiya Vastavaiya" is a remake of Prabhudheva's directorial debut, Telugu blockbuster "Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana". It released Friday.
The Hindi version too is helmed by Prabhudheva, who says he didn't change the script as family emotions don't differ from place to place.
"I think in India, brother-sister emotion, father-mother emotion is same everywhere. This film is full of emotions and (is based on) relationships. I thought Indians are same, so we didn't want to change it," he said.
"Ramaiya Vastavaiya" also stars Sonu Sood and Shruti Haasan.
