Enjoy Holi, offer gulal, but also clean your homes and surroundings during the festival, Goa Governor Mridula Sinha told the people on Thursday.
In her address to the people, Sinha, who has been nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a Swachh Bharat ambassador, said Holi symbolised cleanliness in a holistic way.
"Holi is also a symbol of cleanliness. Do not forget to clean up your homes and its surroundings along with cleaning up of your body and soul," she said.
Asking the people to shed antagonism and differences, Sinha said: "Holi gives us the message that this nation is ours and we belong to this nation. We have to strengthen the honour, sanctity and culture of our nation."
