The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced that goal-line technology will be applied in this year's European Championship as well as the Champions League from next season.
The UEFA announced on its official website on Friday that the organization has decided to use goal-line technology in Euro 2016 in France. The technology will also be employed from qualification games in the 2016-17 Champions League and the 2017-18 Europa League, reports Efe.
The goal-line technology has widely been applied in the major leagues in Europe, and the technology proved to be more effective than human operations. The technology was also used in the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
