A guard of a goods train died on Friday morning after he was run over by a wheel trolley in Howrah, an Eastern Railway official said.
"S. Jadav, on-duty Guard of a goods train died after being run over by wheel trolley at Belur in Howrah district receiving line," said an Eastern Railway spokesperson, adding that a doctor, ambulance, road crane and break-van reached the site immediately but Jadav was already dead.
An enquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the incident, he added.
