Guillermo del Toro's directorial venture "Crimson Peak" will hit the screens in India on October 16.
Starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam, the Universal Pictures project will release in English in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, read a statement.
"Crimson Peak" tells the story of a young woman who is swept away after a stranger steals her heart, to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay - a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever.
Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness lies the truth behind "Crimson Peak".
Set in 1901, the film is given a stylized, contemporary gothic feel through the director's visual style.
Talking about the film, he said: "'Crimson Peak' is the darkest of fairy tales. The story involves finding independence. The rite of passage takes the character on a journey through darkness through geographical space, across the oceans, into the underworld."
