Actor Sumanth, who has donned the garb of a woman in a song in upcoming Telugu romantic-drama "Emo Gurram Egara vachu", was inspired by his grandfather veteran Akkineni Nageswara Rao to do it.
In Telugu plays "Asha Jyothy" and "Telugu Thalli", Rao essayed women's roles.
"Sumanth was initially hesitant to play the role but later when he was reminded of his grandfather's performance in women's role in several plays, he was inspired to take up the role. He has done a fabulous job and that small portion will draw a lot of attention," the film's director Chandra Siddhartha told IANS.
"In one of the songs, Sumanth will be seen in a woman's avatar. He draped a sari and also danced to the song," he added.
Actress Pinky Savika makes her debut through this film, which is getting ready for release soon.
M.M. Keeravani has composed the music for "Emo Gurram Egara Vachu".
