Brazilian football club Gremio's forward Miller Bolanos has been ruled out of the rest of the Copa Libertadores group phase due to a broken jaw.
The 25-year-old was released from hospital on Sunday, a week after suffering the injury in Gremio's goalless draw with local rivals Internacional, reports Xinhua.
Bolanos will be forced to maintain a liquid diet for about a month and is not expected to return to training until late April or early May, the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper reported.
The Ecuador international will also miss his country's next two World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay on March 24 and Colombia five days later.
Gremio are currently second in Group 6 of the Copa Libertadores, Latin America's premier club competition.
Bolanos, who joined Gremio in January from Guayaquil-based Emelec, has been capped 12 times for Ecuador, scoring six goals.
