A senior executive with a private firm here was Friday arrested for allegedly raping a woman, who worked with another private company, police said.
Aman Shorya, 31, a resident of sector 22, was arrested for raping a 29-year-old woman on the pretext of marrying her.
The victim lives in a PG here in sector 17.
"We came in contact with each other nearly one-and-half-years back. Shorya befriended and raped me on several occasions on the pretext of marrying me," the woman said in her complaint.
"Of late, he refused to meet me and stopped taking my phone calls. Thursday, he thrashed me, broke my mobile and threatened me with dire consequences when I met him," she said.
The accused was arrested and booked under sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (causing damage to property) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
