Haryana Roadways plans to upgrade its fleet of buses in Gurgaon by introducing 10 low-floor Mercedes Benz or Volvo luxury buses, a state government official said here Friday.
Haryana Roadways will also procure 50 low-floor air-conditioned CNG buses of Marcopolo Brand from Tata Motors. Of these, 10 buses would be included in the fleet by the end of this month while the rest will be added by August, a government spokesperson said.
He said Haryana Roadways plans to run 160 buses each in two shifts in the city by the year-end. Of these, 100 will be ordinary buses, 50 low-floor CNG buses, and 10 low-floor Mercedes Benz or Volvo buses.
Presently, there are 100 buses each plying in two shifts in Gurgaon. Out of these, 40 are semi-low floor Ashok Leyland buses while the rest are ordinary buses designed for city operations, the spokesperson said.
