Several workers of a factory here and policemen were injured Friday in a clash over the death of an employee while on duty, police said.
Sunil Pusahkar, a 34-year-old employee of the tailoring division at Orient Craft company here at Sector 18, died after receiving an electric shock, while Sunita and Manju, two women workers, fell unconscious.
Outraged over the incidents, workers came out of the factory and launched a protest.
Police were called in, and fired tear gas shells to control the situation, an official said.
Sunil, who died on the spot, hailed from Kanpur.
"Nearly two dozen people were injured in the clash. We are investing the issue," a police officer told IANS.
