Gyllenhaal's mother 'worried' about his weight loss

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal's mother Naomi Foner was concerned about his health after he lost weight for his role in "Nightcrawler".

The 33-year-old shed 30 pounds or 13.6 kg for his starring role as Lou Bloom in the crime thriller and he says his concerned mother gave him a word of warning, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I'd say my mother was worried (about the weight loss). I would say she just wanted me to be careful. But she also knew and knows how seriously I take what I do and she respects that," he said.

"She knows that I'm a big boy and I could handle myself and that I would stay within the realm of being safe, but yes, she worried. She'd be like, 'You're cranky--eat something'," he added.
