Harvard Business School dean Nitin Nohria has been appointed as a non-executive director on the board of Tata Sons Ltd from Friday, the company announced.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Nohria is the dean of HBS since July 2010 and was previously held other senior positions at the same institution.
Prior to joining the HBS faculty in July 1988, Nohria received his PhD in management from the Sloan School of Management, and was a visiting faculty member at the London Business School in 1996.
The Tata Group comprises over 100 operating companies in seven business sectors with operations in more than 80 countries.
