Haryana has achieved over 98 percent target of wheat procurement this season, a minister said here on Friday.
Food and Supplies minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that over 63.85 lakh tonnes of wheat had been procured in the state this season against a target of 65 lakh tonnes.
"The figure of this procurement has also exceeded the procurement of 61,70,182 (61.70 lakh) tonnes of wheat procured up to the same day last year," he said.
The wheat procurement is 215,447 (2.15 lakh) tonnes higher as compared to the procurement made up to same day last year.
Nearly 99.9 percent wheat has been procured by government agencies from farmers.
