The Haryana Assembly's monsoon session, scheduled to commence on Friday, has been postponed in the wake of the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"The session has been postponed indefinitely," Assembly Speaker Kanwar Pal told reporters here.
He said the new dates for the session would be announced later.
The Assembly session was to conclude on August 21.
Vajpayee, 93, a moderate face in saffron politics and the first non-Congress Prime Minister to complete a full term in office, died in New Delhi on Thursday after a prolonged illness.
